The layers of history in this photograph are what set it apart.  

This is the ruin of the Palace Theater in Gary, Indiana.  We can imagine it was a beauty at the height of its powers and is now reduced to rubble.  The ambient light quiets the sense of despair we might feel if there were darkness and shadow.  The photograph acts as a memorial for society and a life in another time.  

Moore searches out the reds and blues and finds a way of muting them.  Our point of view is that of an audience member to this current drama of abandonment.
